Details on Titles

Details on Titles

Opening titles are used to give you details about the films, the details consist of companies involved in the featuring of the production, the role of the production companies (stereotyping the company to a genre), producers, director, actors e.t.c....

However the main point of opening titles is for the production company to get its name out there and to become associated to with a genre.

Disney: Nemo, Pirates of the Caribbean and soon to be the new Star Wars. Theses types of films are usually associated with families. Disney are known for making family focused films.

DreamWorks: Shrek and Madagascar, again DreamWorks are known for making family films that are based on the whole family sitting down together and enjoying what they have.

Tristar: Muppets, Rambo, Terminator and Godzilla. This company have been responsible for big name films. These names of films are going to be known and this shows that this company make big budget films that don't tend to flop.

Paramount: The Godfather, Transformers and Forest Gump. Paramount like Tristar have made very big films but paramount have made films that you have only heard of and they aren't films that are regarded as alright... they are films that are considered as the greatest of the great, theses are film that are just full blown insane.

MGM: Tom and Jerry and "Of Mice and Men" these may not be high money making ideas, however they are reasonably well known.

Film 4: Rat Race and The Imbetweeners Movie Film 4 may be channel on TV but it has actually started producing films. The majority of their films are actually comedy films, but also tend to be films from TV shows they make... Like The Imbetweeners Movie.

Pixar: Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Cars. These film are made by Disney but they are from the sub section of Disney Pixar. the film will tend to be family films once again but are usually animated.

20th Century FOX: The Simpsons Movie, Family Guy and Freddy Got Fingured. FOX is a big American company that is mainly based on making comedy films/ TV Shows for teenagers and up because of the content within the features. However they do also make younger children films like Ice Age, but the cast is mainly big American names on American TV.

Universal: Barney, Johnny English Reborn and Paul. These are titles that are quite well known, however Universal aren't really know for having a specific genre because they are so big they tend to be company that funds a lot of films.

Lionsgate: Anger Management and Hunger Games. These titles are those which connect to people more than you calling an opinion of it. You have to watch it know if you like it. If you connect with it you'll like it.

To some up production companies will tend to be big titles that will be show before a film starts in its opening titles, they will does this using their animations and soundtracks that will be iconic to the company so you are more likely to know who it is producing the film. ~The role of the company is mainly funding but to also advertise the film and make it sound good to the public. An effective production company is one that is know and can produce low-budget films and make them into master pieces by bringing in a lot more money then what it took to make it.
